Seed importation in 2015 increases approximately 7% in proportion to value of imports in 2014 and itimport reachs 202 millions of dollars. Turkey imported seed from 63 different countries (except free trade zone).

Major part of seed imports is vegetable seeds (57%). Primarily imports seeds are tomato and potato, others follow them such as sugar beet, pepper, et al.

About 50% of Turkey’s seed importation imported to five counties. They are France, Holland, USA, Peru and Thailand. China, Chile and Australia are other countries monitored increment of imports in recent years.

There are two tables below shows countries and seed species about Turkey’s imports in 2015.
