According to Black Sea Hazelnut Export Association which is in Turkey between in 01 September 2016 and 31 July 2017 about 223 thousands tonof hazelnut kernels exported and from this exportation has been gained about 1.8 billion USD.

In an interview the head of Turkey Seed Growers Association Mr. Kamil YILMAZ said that “One of the important problems in seed sector is informal sales. The meaning of sales is uncontrolled sales about disease, name accuracy, germination power, germination rate, purity, yield ratio, etc. These seeds don’t have certificate and guaranty. So if you are using these seeds, you will be under risk. You can get low yield from unit area because germination rate, yield rate, disease rate etc of the uncontrolled seeds are unknown. Turkey has big potential about geographical indications. There are approximately 2500 products which they can be registered. But there are just 200 geographical indications products in domestic and only 3 products received from European Union (EU).

In this year (2017) yield of wheat is high in Turkey. Because of the high harvest wheat prices are falling. So Minister of Agriculture and Livestock announced that the base price of bread wheat. It is 940 liras per ton (approximately 262.5 USD). This wheat has 12.5 proteins. He said that of course this is base price. Normally wheat prices wheat prices will be higher than the base price.
